Cheap Community Produce Co-op Policy and Procedures
Placing an Order
Each week an e-mail will go out reminding you to order.
To order reply to that e-mail stating, your name and the time you will be there to get your basket. Only one basket per person until Monday morning, then we will reopen ordering if we have any spots left you may order a second basket.
Orders must be placed by Monday evening at 9:00 p.m.
Paying for Your Order
The price per basket is $10.00. You may pay in advance if you would like but you may also pay when you pick up. We are accepting EXACT CASH ONLY. Payment must be made before you pick up your order. NO CHECKS.
Ordering in Advance
Important note, we are not offering refunds, for example if you pay $40 at the beginning of the month, we will assume that you want a basket for the next four weeks, if you do not pick up one of those weeks FOR ANY REASON, we will not refund that week’s purchase. It is up to you if you pay in advance to let us know before Monday at 9:00 p.m. of that week if you do not want a basket.
Refund Policy
We are not offering refunds. Period.
Placed Orders That are not Paid for
If you place an order and choose to pay upon pick up and do not pick up your basket, you will no longer be invited to participate.
Picking up Your Order
At this time we only have one pick up location: 3 Bullrush Landing, Elizabethtown PA 17022.
You may come Tuesday after 7:00 p.m. Knock on the front door, ask for Heather or Valarie, we will take your payment if you still need to make it, check your name off our sheet then you will be able to load up your produce. You will need to bring something to transport your produce home in (bags, boxes, laundry basket). Panda is willing to pick up for people in the Lancaster area, if you want her to pick up your order two things must happen: 1) you must coordinate it with her, 2) you must state in your order that you have confirmed with her and that she is picking up your order.
Special Orders and Requests
At this time we cannot make any special orders or fulfill any special requests.
Our Guarantee
We promise to do our best to purchase the freshest produce we can, and the largest quantities we can with the co-op funds. We promise to try our best to offer you a large variety of produce weekly. We are purchasing from an auction and we make no guarantee of what or how much we will provide each week. We make no guarantee that all items will be organic or local. We appreciate your input, and will try our best to implement your suggestions.
Information about our produce
The produce at the Roots Market comes from a variety of locations. Some of the produce has been stored in cool boxes for most of its shelf life, what this means is that once you take the produce home and put it on your counter it may ripen quickly. However we have had great success with most of our purchases and will try to buy a variety of under-ripe and ripe produce so it will last you all week (once again, no guarantee). The produce will not be washed or prepped in any way before you come to get it.
